Thursday

Today we have the flower of the day, friend of the day, boat of the day (night), bird of the day, and snake of the day.
The flower of the day is the Common Milkweed. It's exciting to discover how beautiful they are in their flowering stage.
The friend of the day is, of course, Amy H. She is back for a couple days and then will pick up Leslie in Detroit on Sunday and they will head back to Boston.
The boat of the day is the Tuscarora. It's licensed in Liberia and was stopped just up from us by the Border Patrol probably so they could do a drug search. Besides that we read in the Detroit paper about a drug bust on Trout Island just a couple miles north of us. Life is exciting on the island.
The bird of the day is (we think) a Pine Warbler, but we let Art and Carol make the final judgement on that. The past several days we have had birds in the trees by the deck that must be in their Fall migratory pattern.
The last "thing" of the day is the snake. He/she caught our attention as he/she was enjoying the sun just off the back deck. We think he/she is a variety of water snake and since we don't know any snake authorities, that will have to stand.
We are having a good week. The weather is great and we give thanks for all that we have been blessed with including all who read this. Much love to all of you.
